Today is Holy Wednesday, and most of the people working in some corporate offices or wherever is their last day for this week. Most of the people are now heading towards their chosen vacation spots or probably their provinces to celebrate the divinity of the Holy Week. Some malls and other establishments are closed, preferably for their maintenance procedures and some sort ofs, even the LRT and MRT are also closed starting tomorrow until Sunday. And for me, I should do the same thing. Since 2006, I've been doing a hiatus (just a hiatus, I know it has such a big meaning!) of not using Internet for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday. This has been a tradition for me, I know its simple but it makes me feel a good Christian. So before I sign-off for this Holy Week, let me give a round up of some of the nakakalokang brouhahas of mine this past few weeks!
THE BEGINNING - I already started my stay in the Special Education department at our institution. They welcomed me as if it was my first year of teaching with them. The whole thing is totally new to me. It was going to be a total transformation and adjustment from teaching in the regular school to the Special Education. Good thing, my "pards" is with me in exploring their world. I hope that my decision of going there, as what my "pare" is so scared for me to happen, is correct and certified! Right now, I'm working on my very first foray of doing an Individualized Educational Program or the dreaded (that's according to them) IEP. Man, it is way too different from the UBD format of our lesson plan! This is much of a headache. But goodly, I can manage to do it. I'm now into the finishing touches. Began last week, I was now with the Primary class to just make a rounds of observations and with it, I can able to do it. Next week, I will be with the Intermediate class, which I'm praying I wanted to be included in. And after this, the dream that I am wanting to since before!
THE WORD "BREAK" - If you hear the word "break," what comes to your mind? Some say, one object broke into two or more than two pieces. Some people might say, not anymore together. Last week, I was really moved with what my dear friend shared to me about the L word. He was really into tears when we were talking about it. I don't want to elaborate more since the issue is really messy and uncomfortable to share, but he is truly, madly, deeply in love with the girl. I never thought that he was going to share it to me, though I have an idea about it. It all started with a text, saying that he doesn't want to go to work because of this reason. I was totally in awe, because his text message is different from the text messages I normally receive from him. Then the whole conversation pushed through. Actually, this was not the first time I became a "Love Doctor," some of my dear friends who has flourishing love life and relationship with their guys and girls also became my customers. I don't know where all those things that pops out of my mind come from, but I know for a fact that I am their friend! Right now, this good friend of mine is now coping with the situation he has right now. He even mentioned me on his blog (well, thank you for that, really appreciate it!) by being a lending ear to him (even though we didn't talk about through phone but through texting!). And through his text messages I receive every time, I think that slowly he is moving on but surely. I know that you can find a new and better person that is to be loved and beloved. But I also believe that this could be just a test because I know you really love her, all throughout!
AJ PEREZ - This is really a total shocker! Last Palm Sunday, AJ Perez, only 18, fatally died due to a tragic car accident in Tarlac. The news came to me through watching DZMM Teleradyo and I thought that it is only a namesake, but it is not! It is really true, AJ Perez is now dead. I only saw him last Thursday in Cinema One as one of the guests but then, this is reality, so shocking! I remember him in his last work on ABS-CBN, Sabel and he was really good there. Sayang talaga! He was one of the young actors who haven't had a huge chance or opportunity.
SUMMER IS SO HERE - The most hated season of mine is now finally happening. I thought that April will have a chilly night and a summery day, but no. This week, the humid temperature already started and I really, really hate it! I don't like sticky feeling because of the sweat, and also having body odors, or yucky perspiration. Sorry for those summer worshipers, but this season is my least favorite.
UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES, DILIMAN!!! - Sounds familiar, don't you??? I wanted to try my luck in the national university. I wanted to try studying SpEd here, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to catch their deadline because it is already dead, I mean finished! The next schedule, which is now for the 2nd semester is on July to September of the current year! And their requirements, it is heaven!!! They need three recommendation letters from a former professor and a current employer, then I need an original copy of my OTR (or TOR to some), birth certificate and more. And a P500 admission test fee! Yes, it is only for the admission test, what if I didn't pass, so goodbye to those things! Aaargghh!!! It is only a plan, and I hope I could able to achieve this. My dear buddy wants to study in Ateneo and my other buddy wants to study in La Salle, so why not for the three of us, known to be The Big Three of BSECAE 2008 will study on the three of the best universities in the Philippines!!! Why not???
HOW WILL BE YOUR HOLY WEEK? - Tradition has it that every Maundy Thursday (the dates of the Holy Week changes annually depends on the Vatican, that's what I know...), we always go to the Grotto at San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. First, we hear the mass at the church and after that, we will be heading at the Calvary Hill to pray for the 14 stations of the cross. Then we will eat our lunch, then heading back to where we live. Good Friday, just at home, watching the Seven Last Words and before three in the afternoon, you have to take a bath or else, something might happen. Then we will join the procession courtesy of our church. Black Saturday, it was either we will stay overnight at the El Shaddai in ParaƱaque or join the Easter Vigil at our church. Before, I really don't like celebrating Holy Week because there's no favorable programs on TV. Good thing, we have cable TV but it is senseless! But now, as I become older and more mature, I know the real meaning of the observance of the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! We should be sensitive and at the same time, reflective for what Jesus have done to all of us, gracing up His own life and saving us from sins. This year, we will be doing Visita Iglesia, making rounds to different churches here near our place. Then we will listen to the Seven Last Words at our church, then on Black Saturday, we'll try to join the Easter Vigil, though the time is not yet sure if it is midnight or early morning. Again, Holy Week is not just a vacation with a family or friends or having sun bathing, drinking or a lot after a long day of work in the office or where else, but the real meaning of it is to know the fatal hardships of Jesus Christ!
Let's have a remarkable Holy Week! Drive safe, pray hard and of course, act maturely! This is what our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to do!!!
I love you Lord!!! I love you God!!! I lift my hands to You!!!
Toodles!!!
